I feel like I need to make a statement, due to the unforeseen intensity of reaction to my post earlier:

Disagreeing publicly with someone doesn’t mean I hate them, that I don’t consider them my brother, or that I see absolutely nothing good in what they believe. I thought those were givens, but I guess not. So I’ll say that officially here.

Those who are upset by me taking a public stance against the theology in this video, I am sorry you feel that way, but I shall continue to think hard and speak up.

I truly am glad people feel as free to disagree with my disagreement as I feel to disagree in the first place. :)

I shared my opinion about his poetry because I believe a good culture of criticism is essential to the survival of any art form. I encourage gladly the free sharing of opinions about my music as well, whether negative or positive. My songs are not who I am, they are what I write—and if I put them out in the world, I gladly welcome criticism.
