The Cancer Year
Many have asked how they can help us offset the cost of my husband’s cancer treatment. We still have not paid a bill: adjusting the costs through insurance is, as any of you who have gone through sickness know, a very confusing process. One thing we do know—the rising total is too much for us to pay on our own. Billy didn’t want to ask for donations, per se: but he came up with the idea of producing an EP to sell, so that you would get something beautiful in return for your goodness in wanting to help. On the Cancer Year EP, I recorded a song that is unreleased ANYWHERE else — (for those who have come to my shows, it’s the ‘happy song’ that I often play) — and there is an unreleased song from Matt Maher, as well as from Erin Gauvin, a young and incredible artist I can’t wait for you to hear. Also, hear a song from my duet project with the fantastic Marshall Altman, who produced both of my records. We call ourselves “A Wild Wood”.
